Overview

The Dhaninallah Mangrove Nature Walk (seasonal Turtle Breadding) on Rangat Island, Andaman Islands, is a 713-meter-long one-of-a-kind promenade flanked on both sides by mangrove linings. This is India’s longest walkway. It is located 20 kilometres from the mainland of Rangat, next to the Andaman trunk road. Dhani Nallah gets its name from a local mangrove called Dhanipatti. The walkway winds its way through the woodland until it reaches the open sea and a soft beach. The pathway is carved out of wood and stands on a pedestal. The shallow waters provide breeding places for fish and other marine life, resulting in a diverse bird population and a diverse marine life including crabs, shrimp, and fish.Crocodiles have been sighted in this area as well. Along the trip, educational signs explain the importance of mangroves and their role in ecology.

With its 5km stretch of brownish soft sands, turquoise sea, and abundance of shade along the shore, Dhaninallah is known as the most beautiful beach on Middle Andaman Island. The beach is usually lonely, and you can go for lengthy walks by yourself to the Dhani Nallah Mangrove Walkway on the outskirts of Rangat.
